Services provided by Western District Hand Therapy will depend on the person and the condition however examples of some treatments include:
  • Comprehensive assessment of condition and symptoms
  • Education and advice
  • Splints/supports
  • Home exercise programs
  • Mobilisation techniques
  • Strengthening techniques
  • Desensitisation techniques
  • Scar management techniques
  • Oedema and wound management
  • Pain management techniques
  • Electrotherapy – including therapeutic ultrasound and interX

Western District Hand Therapy Services fees are expected on the day of consultation and are not covered by Medicare (unless your doctor has referred you for the Enhanced Primary Care plan). Patients attending under the Enhanced Primary Care plan are required to pay in full at the time of service and will receive a rebate from Medicare. 

Western District Hand Therapy accepts compensable Clients (Workcover, Department of Veterans Affairs, TAC) however if your claim is rejected the patient is liable for all costs. If your claim is accepted, consult fees will be covered by your insurance agent and will be billed directly to them however patients are responsible for the cost of additional splints and therapy equipment.

Fees for private patients are as follows:

 

  • Initial Consultation................................................................................ $90.00

 

 

  • Standard/Review Consultation.............................................................$85.00


 

  • Any splints or additional therapy equipment will incur an additional fee.
